What does it do for me?
12-Toolbar adds a new toolbar to Internet Explorer that helps optimize your work and save you time when browsing on the Internet. Tweak it with easily accessible buttons directly
in IE. Auto-Stop any dynamic page elements, such as background sounds and animations,
immediately after the page has loaded: No longer will blinking ads distract
your attention. Turn 'Images Off' to load pages faster. Use the boss-key to quickly
hide all browser windows, should somebody come in unexpectedly. Wash the history
of IE and temporary cached files to protect your privacy. Move new IE windows always
to
the same size and position. Fast download of thumbnail galleries, including re-naming to
prevent overwriting of existing pictures. Have fun with using IE, get boring things done automatically, so you can concentrate on your important
work.
Auto-Stop
Automatically stop any dynamic page elements, such as background sounds and animations,
immediately after the page has completed loading. No longer will a blinking ad distract
your attention. (Unfortunatelly, this does not apply to scripting, Java applets,
or Shockwave controls.)
Note the additional options for Auto-Stop on the first tab of 12-Toolbar settings.
Some pages need longer to load. In particular pages with multiple frames may finish
loading the main page quickly, then take longer to load sub-frames. In this case
try to increase the seconds to wait after the page has loaded.
3 to 5 seconds should suffice. You may need to turn off Auto-Stop for some pages,
and turn it on again when the page is completely visible.
After a refresh you probably don't want Auto-Stop to interfere
(again), so it is recommended to turn this option off. This will also reduce problems
with multiple frames.
Turn Images Off
'Images Off' makes pages load faster! Without images, loading of a page may
take significantly less time. You may still display a picture by right-clicking on its
placeholder and selecting 'Show Picture' at any time.
Enable ActiveX Controls Temporarily
ActiveX controls impose a security risk because they can access files and data on
your computer. By turning off ActiveX controls you can enhance security. Only Enable
ActiveX when necessary on a web page.
Protect Your Homepage
Protect Homepage will secure your homepage, the page that loads when you start IE, from
being changed inadvertently or by malicious programs. After changing the homepage yourself
confirm this new homepage by simply pressing this button twice (disable and enable it again).
Always On Top
Always On Top lets you keep the current Internet Explorer window on top of all other
windows, that is, even if not activated. You can still see the contents while writing
in a program that would otherwise cover IE.
 Auto-Size new IE Windows
Set Size allows you to set the size and position of a new Internet Explorer window.
This is one the
most useful missing features of Ineternet Explorer! Three sizes can be pre-set for different situations. To
change one of the three ...Size commands, position the IE window,
then select one of the three Change... commands. You may also enable Auto-Size
which will set the default size the moment the window opens. (Note, the toolbar is also
available in Windows Explorer, where the default is 'Explorer Size'.) Last not
least, the command Always Full Screen may come in handy, which also works
for secondary windows.
PRO Features
The registered PRO version of 12-Toolbar comes with additional features for advanced
users. For example, the PRO version allows you to download picture galleries
automatically
that are linked as thumbnails. Only available in the PRO version are also the extended Boss-Key, and advanced Delete Options for history cleaning.
Boss-Key
A boss-key is useful when you need to hide certain windows quickly. For example it can
hide the browser window - also from the taskbar! (When you just minimize
the window the title is still visible in the startbar.) One click and nobody will see
where you have been surfing.
12-Toolbar's boss-key can hide not only the browser but you can customize it to
hide ANY window, for example:
- Internet Explorer, Firefox, Netscape, Opera, AOL, ...
- Picture Viewers (IrfanView, ACDSee, etc.)
- Video Players (Real Player, Media Player, etc.)
- Audio Players (WinAmp, Media Player, etc.)
- Instant Messengers such as MSN or AOL messenger or ICQ
- downloads continue in the background without showing in the taskbar!
Protect Your Privacy
 The
built-in history cleaner comes with the features that have proven to be most useful
in our 12-Wash: They help you maintain your privacy and clear
temporary files on
your disk. This removes your Internet history, cookies, and temporary cached files of
Internet Explorer. The address drop-down list can be cleared, as well as the auto-complete
info of forms.
It also helps you clear tracks you may have left in Windows. The default
temporary (TEMP) folder is cleared, run history, recent documents menu, and recently searched
files.
It even deletes locked files or files in use (e.g. those peculiar "index.dat"
files). Locked files are queued for deletion at the next Windows restart.

Fast Download of Thumbnail Galleries
Download a range of pictures automatically to a local folder. Pictures are renamed
(optionally) so that this doesn't overwrite existing pictures, and you can keep
track of which pictures belong together even if the images are just called 1.jpg,
2.jpg, and so on.
Wait until the page is completely loaded so that 12-Toolbar can find all possible
sets of pictures referenced from that page. Often, smaller versions, so called thumbnails
of the pictures are displayed on the page. To download all pictures you had to click
on the thumbnail, then select Save Picture for each of them. Now, all you need to
do is click 'Download & Save'. 12-Toolbar does the rest for you!
Fast Picture Download works with more than one set of images. For example if there
are two sets of thumbnails referenced from a web site: blue001.jpg, blue002.jpg,
..., as well as red001.jpg, red002.jpg, ... You can select either [blue*.jpg] or
[red*.jpg] from the 'Select set of images' drop-down list.
Pictures referenced from a sub .htm page can be downloaded, too. (That's why *.htm
may appear in the set drop-down.) For example, a web page lists thumbnails pointing
to pic001.htm, pic002.htm, and so on, and each of these pages display a picture
which you want to download. 12Ghosts Toolbar loads the .htm automatically, then
downloads the picture on that page.
